Standing On History - A Tour Of The Great Wall Of China

One of the most dazzling structures in the world is The Great Wall of China. It stretches 5,500 miles, some pieces sitting there for millennia, others for many, many centuries. It is one of the top tourist attractions in China and offers a completely unique glance at the history of this great country.

No visit to China would be complete without a Great Wall of China tour. Seeing the structure first hand is astonishment galvanizing and viewing the views from the wall is just breathtaking. Standing upon the wall you feel like you are a part of history, of something which has been there since time started. You can almost see the militaries of centuries past turning away from this extraordinary structure.

The wall isn't one complete structure. It is broken at intervals, due either to the eradication of parts of it over time or simply to the way that it was built to meet the wishes at the time. Of course it is impossible to see the entire wall on your trip to China, but you can certainly see a part of it if you go on one of the Great Wall of China Tours.

One of the sections of the wall that is ordinarily toured is the Simatai Great Wall. This Nineteen kilometer stretch is the part of the Ming wall that is best saved. It is divided into the east and west parts and each of these if extraordinarily different to the other. The west part has 20 watch towers and is mild in its terrain. From the other viewpoint, the eastern section is extraordinarily steep. The bricks on this part of the wall are stamped with the code of the army that made them as well as the date they were made.

There's more to the Simatai Great Wall than simply the wall itself. From here you may visit and experience such attractions as the Fairy Tower, the Heavenly Ladder, the Sky Bridge and the Watching Beijing Tower from which you can see the town of Beijing.

It is actually possible to take a cable car, and an iron rope bridge to help you get the best views of the valley below. There is even a service that provides possibilities for cruising on the Yuanyang Lake. This wall has such a lot to offer there is even a cultural holiday, and gliding holiday and, a climbing.

Many things make the Simatai a top choice to visit, but there are many other parts of the wall you can choose to visit instead. Whether your Great Wall of China tour includes ruined sections or more intact parts, steep or flat you are in for the experience of a lifetime as you stand on history. Beyond just seeing and walking on the wall you may also sleep on the wall in an exclusive hotel, if you opt for the sleep on the wall tour!
